The Indoor/Outdoor IntelliTrap Mosquito Trap uses UV light, heat, color, size, and scent to attract mosquitoes, gnats and other biting insects. It attracts from a range of up to 30 feet. Mosquitoes, gnats, and other biting insects are sucked into the solid plastic catch tray from which they cannot escape by a very quiet fan. Note that it is not a zapper, so there are no annoying sounds.  It is very small, portable, and easy to clean. 

This trap will work well for light to moderate mosquito activity both indoors and out. For best results, use it with repellents such as the Cognito.  If you have a lot of mosquitoes or a larger space, you should get one or more CO2 traps.

ATTRACTANTS   Heat, UV light, color, size and shape and optional liquid attractant. 

OPERATION  Simple on/off switch.  It has a low voltage transformer and 6 feet of cord that plugs into a regular 110v plug.

We recommend that you turn it off in heavy rain.

PLACEMENT  This is one of the most important considerations.  The IntelliTrap does not use CO2, so it does not draw from as wide an area.  However, it should be in a shady area at least 15 feet from people.  You can hang it on a tree or wall, or put it on a table, somewhere visible.   Turn it on whenever mosquitoes are present.   If you have a lot of mosquitoes, you should get a trap that emits CO2.

Once you place it, monitor the catch.  Mosquitoes are more prevalent right after a rain, and then decrease in numbers until the next rain, when another hatch of the same or different species may occur.  If you are not catching many, move the machine to another location.  The best gauge is your perception of the number of bites you get after placing the machine.  It will not kill every mosquito, but it should make your outdoor life much more tolerable. 

We also recommend that you add one of the repellent packages, either Cognito or Thermacell for a complete package.  The traps kill the mosquitoes and the repellents keep any that remain away from you. If you have a large area, get traps that emit CO2.
